[TV SHOW REVIEW] Eye Candy - MTV

poster of Eye Candy - MTV
NO SPOILERS

So, I am seriously considering only doing reviews on tv shows, because I'm watching so many of them and there's always a new one for me to check it out, but I'm not so sure yet. What do you guys think?

Anyways, this time I'm reviewing for you guys a thriller show starring Victoria Justice: Eye Candy.

Eye Candy is about a hacker girl woman, Lindy Sampson (Victoria Justice), who witnessed her sister's kidnapping three years ago. Now she has a blog where she helps other people find their missing dear ones while she tries to find her sister as well.

Meanwhile, Lindy's friend Sarah signs her up, against her will, into online dating, where she comes across a cyber stalker/murderer. Lindy teams up with the police to help them catch him.

MY OPINION
The plot of the show is awesome, I really liked it. But the actual show is not that good.

The pilot episode is all over the place - in a good way. I liked the approach they tried there, it was different; so much happens that you just cannot keep your eyes off of the screen, so I thought the show was going to be amazing, but that's not what really happened.

The story ended up being super rushed up in all the episodes so far, which doesn't give you time to relate to and care for the characters.

The acting is not the best either, I just don't believe in the characters at all.

So far I'm still watching it to see if something changes, since it only has been aired 4 episodes. But it's really a shame that they weren't able to do better at this, because like I said, the plot is really good.

Overall I do not recommend this show (see, told you I'd eventually run into a not-so-good tv show), but if my opinion changes I'll let you know.

[MOVIE REVIEW] Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014)

5 stars rating

NO SPOILERS

Today I will be reviewing a super fun comedy movie based on Judith Viorst's children's book of the same name: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Yep.

Here's the trailer :

The movie is about a 11-year-old boy, Alexander Cooper (Ed Oxenbould), who always seems to have horrible days while the rest of his family are succeeding at their lives.

In the morning of his twelfth birthday, while everyone is asleep, he makes himself a little birthday cupcake and thinks how he would like if the rest of his family were to have a terrible day, so they'd understand what his everyday felt like. And his wish comes true turning that day into a complete disaster.

I had so much fun watching this movie. It's just that innocent fun type of movie, totally safe to watch it with your family.

The actors were just perfect for this, which is something very important to me. It has the participation of Jennifer Garner (Alias) as Alexander's mother, Steve Carell (The 40-year-old Virgin) as his father, Dylan Minnette (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; Scandal) as his older brother and Kerris Dorsey as the older sister.

They just don't make movies like this so frequently anymore, so I definitely, definitely recommend it!

[BOOK REVIEW] Hidden Wings - Cameo Renae

cover of Hidden Wings - Cameo Renae
NO SPOILERS

Today I'll be reviewing for you guys a book many of you may not have heard of it yet, and it is Hidden Wings, by Cameo Renae, which is a paranormal/supernatural young-adult novel and it is the first book of the series.

The story is about a seventeen year-old girl, Emma Wise, who wakes up in a hospital to find out that she had been in a car accident and was the only survivor.

Now, she has to move to Alaska with an aunt she never knew existed.

During her travel she realises that weird things are happening around her, and there's something wrong which no one but her aunt is in liberty to tell her about.

After arriving at her aunt's, she finds out what she is really destined to be.

So the book was really easy to read, I read it in a couple of days. I had been reading a lot of dystopian novels so this one was refreshing. The romance part was pretty standard for these kind of books, but I like the standard.

I read the ebook of it, and maybe that's just in the virtual book, but there was a lot of  missing and repeated words here and there, which annoyed me a little, but nothing major.

I also didn't like the fact that there was so many main characters that were brought up all the time, because I have a lousy memory when it comes to names, lol. Luckily the ebook for kindle has a little "thingy" where you can access easily to see the characters descriptions. But if you have an easier time associating names to characteristics it shouldn't bother you.

So overall I recommend this novel, even more for people who are beginning to read supernatural/paranormal books.

[TV SHOW REVIEW] You're the Worst - FXX

poster of You're the Worst - FXX
NO SPOILERS

So today I will be doing a review on a comedy show called You're the Worst. The series has been renewed for a second season, but the airing date has not been released yet.

The show is about two people, Gretchen Cutler and Jimmy Shive-Overly, both with toxic personalities trying to make it as a couple.

Gretchen is a messy cynical PR executive and Jimmy is a selfish insensitive british novelist, both living in Los Angeles.

It is fun to see how their relationship works and don't. Not only that, but their friends and not so friends are also quite messed up which makes this show even funnier.

Attention, the series is rated as TV-MA-LSV, which means some content may be unsuitable for children under 17, containing coarse language, sexual content and violence. Although I don't think it has much violence.

This is one of my favorite shows so obviously I do recommend it.

I know it seems like I only do reviews on tv shows I like, but that's just a coincidence because I like almost every show I watch. But who knows, maybe I'll watch one and I'll unlikely hate it and advice you guys not to see it.

But for now go ahead and check out You're the Worst, 'cause it is the best ;)
